About My Clients

The transition to motherhood and parenthood can be an experience mixed with intense emotion, including joy, fear, sadness, grief, excitement and confusion. Perhaps you feel alone in your thoughts as you journey into motherhood or parenthood and wonder- is it supposed to feel this way? Many mothers and parents struggle with mood disorders such as anxiety and depression during pregnancy and beyond. Together we can address these concerns and lead you to a more fulfilled experience.

My Background and Approach

My work is deeply rooted in looking at the whole person. This includes emotional concerns that led you to seek therapy as well as the external factors that may be impacting your wellbeing such as societal norms, pressure, systemic racism, discrimination, and access to wellness resources in your surrounding community. We are human after all, and there are so many pieces of our lives that impact our sense of peace and fulfillment. Therapy is not one size fits all, and in order to support your unique needs I draw from a variety of modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness techniques.  I am honored to be considered to walk this path with you and pride myself in my culturally sensitive, compassionate, and empathic yet direct style to support you during this time.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I truly believe in honoring a person's lived experience. Many factors contribute to our existence and can have a profound impact on how we view ourselves and our world including trauma, generational trauma, parenting, systemic racism, discrimination and micro aggressions. All of these are pieces of our lived experiences and can greatly impact how we live our lives. As a perinatal therapist, I believe in honoring women as they prepare for motherhood, whether by birth, adoption or as caregivers, by working with all areas that impact them and their ability to discover peace and fulfillment. I firmly believe that when you heal a mother, you heal future generations.
