About My Clients
The idea of depth work interests you. You're curious, but maybe a little scared or intimidated to explore how the "there and then" influence the "here and now." The thought of meeting multiple times a week feels daunting, but also exciting and intense. You don't want to do worksheets and focus on your symptoms. You want to dig in and understand your motives, wishes and relationships more clearly in an atmosphere of safety. I hear you taking a sigh of relief at this idea.
My Background and Approach
I have my doctoral degree in clinical psychology and am currently a psychoanalytic candidate (meaning that I am undergoing further training and supervision in order to be a psychoanalyst).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that people are all too often held back by fears, rules and ideas of how they think they should be. I work to help people shake free from those confines that hold them back from a life that they want to pursue and support the ideas of choice, freedom, acceptance and thriving when possible. Life will get in our way (in many different forms), but we don't have to get in our own way. To understand ourselves is to be compassionate, curious and accepting of our desires and our limitations.
