About My Clients
You might be an adult, a couple, or a parent who keeps hitting the same painful patterns with the people you love. Maybe your childhood wasn't very nurturing, a hard event still lingers, or parenting leaves you touched-out and doubting yourself. You're insightful, open to feedback, and ready to make therapy a priority. You're curious about more than talk therapy, including body-based work, and you want to heal, not just cope. All backgrounds welcome; LGBTQIA+ affirming
My Background and Approach
I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Minnesota and Wisconsin. My family systems training means we look at the whole picture, so you can see how your past and relationships shape your present. I specialize in complex, relational, and generational trauma, PTSD, relationship struggles, parenting stress, grief, and pregnancy and baby loss. I also help with anxiety, depression, ADHD, and big emotions that feel hard to manage. I'm trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), which can help painful memories lose their grip without retelling every detail, and the STAIR Method, which builds self-trust and resilience. I blend these with parts work and body-based approaches, so healing happens in your body, not just your head. I was a teacher and academic coach before becoming a therapist. Across both, I've trained in how the brain learns and makes lasting change, so the progress you make in session sticks in everyday life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone deserves permission to feel, heal, and exist authentically without shame. My own life has been shaped by relationships, grief, exploring and accepting who I am, and learning to listen to my inner voice. I had support along the way, and becoming a therapist is how I pay that forward. My practice is a welcoming space for people of all backgrounds, identities, and family shapes. I also believe we're shaped by our basic wiring, so I'm neurodiversity affirming, as well as LGBTQIA+ affirming and culturally sensitive. You won't have to explain or defend who you are here. I value acceptance, curiosity, calm, and humor, and I bring all four into the room. Outside of therapy, I love both silly and deep conversations, and I sing off-key with full confidence. Fun fact: I danced in the 1992 Super Bowl halftime show. I believe therapy can be real, warm, and even a little fun, while still doing deep, meaningful work.
