About My Clients
ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS - I work with teens and adults on a wide array of issues including, but not limited to: anxiety, depression, families of those with severe mental illness, bipolar disorder, aviation industry, self-harm, trauma and PTSD, religious trauma, grief and loss, coping skills, multicultural therapy, stress management, life transitions, and PRIDE community (aka LGBTQIA+) with a particular emphasis on supporting trans persons. I'm also kink- and poly-friendly.
My Background and Approach
I firmly believe in individualized, custom care for each of my clients. If you are going to put your time and trust in me then the least I can do is provide customized, evidence-based care. I honor the belief that each client is an expert on him, her, or themselves. My clients are equal partners in their care. I also fully believe everyone has a natural capacity to be a fully actualized and happy person. Just as our natural talents need guidance and practice, so do we as people. I am a certified clinical trauma professional and have helped numerous clients process and overcome trauma experiences through EMDR and evidenced-based treatments.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Everyone can become their best, fully-actualized self, and there is no shame in needing support, education, or guidance to get there. I'm a part of the LGBTQIA+ community and dedicated to helping my brothers and sisters.. There is also no kink-shaming here, nor judgement of poly relationships. If it works for you it works for me. I never expected to become a therapist. In fact, I remember stating very clearly I could never do this job. Turns out, I'm not half bad at it, and I love this job so very much. Writing new chapters with my clients every day is exciting, humbling, and just plain fun. I will never laugh at you, but I hope I can laugh with you.
