About My Clients
On the surface everyone thinks you have it together, but privately there is another story. You are under an unbelievable amount of pressure, you are losing balance in life, you feel stuck, and no one understands. I get how hard it is to pretend nothing is wrong but knowing things are not right. It causes unbelievable stress and can lead to anxiety and depression. It begins to affect your professional and personal lives. But it doesn’t have to be that way and there are solutions.
My Background and Approach
My practice provides accessible, private, and professional counseling using video and chat services you can access from the comfort of your home or office. My approach is scientifically proven, using primarily a Cognitive Behavioral approach, along with Reality Therapy, Solution-Focused and Person- Centered techniques. Throughout the treatment process, I use assessments to provide clear and measured feedback about your progress. We will spend time building trust and gathering information about your life and your concerns. We will work as a team to identify the goals that, when achieved, will make life better for you. Every session will help you find clarity and give you specific techniques and tools to help you continue your progress between sessions. I will provide a safe place for you to open up and talk, and I will kindly and directly motivate you to move forward toward your goals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have been in the mental health profession since 1995. I started my career helping children and families struggling with trauma and substance abuse. I worked with young adults struggling with behavioral and emotional issues and substance abuse. In 2005, as I started to raise a family of four children, I worked as a consultant for dental professionals to address work / life balance, depression and stress. I also help LGBTQ adults work through cultural trauma and discover their authentic selves. Every person is unique, a medley of their own experiences, personalities and environments. But one thing everyone has in common is that we are all human, deserving of respect and self-determination. We are all empowered to live the life we want to live, and we are all responsible to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
