About My Clients
People come to me for help because they might be stressed, anxious or depressed. I help them with problems with relationships, life transitions, grief, and medical conditions, among other things. While your problems may be painful now, they can serve as catalysts for life improvement and enduring change. Out of duress, you can emerge empowered. You may tap into your greater potential and make positive changes. All you need is an open mind, hard work, and a good client-psychotherapist fit.
My Background and Approach
Since no two people are alike, I customize each person’s work with me. The focus is on each client’s situation and comfort level. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and grief during life transitions. I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and LMSW, with training and experience, sensitive to diverse cultures, values, religious or spiritual orientations. I will provide safe, confidential, nonjudgmental support. Together, we can set goals and select an approach suitable to your strengths and growing edges. I use a trauma-informed approach which can include EMDR, Internal Family Systems as well as psychodynamic and cognitive psychotherapies. I have a holistic outlook, am client-centered in my practice, and value the individuality and dignity of each client. Let's talk.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My holistic approach to psychotherapy reflects my belief that we are each unique, endowed with power to heal, and that therapy can be a conduit for growth and change towards a more fulfilling life. I love empowering people to solve problems. I create a safe space where your values can be upheld. In keeping with my client-centered approach, I follow clients' lead in matters of religion and spirituality. I love to learn about other cultures, so as I work with people from other backgrounds, I may ask questions about what is important or how you might experience life a little bit differently. I am certified Spiritually-Integrated Psychotherapy. I can support you as you strive to make meaningful changes and find more meaning in life. If you already feel spiritually connected or feel at home in a religious tradition, I can help honor your faith or view while steering towards your psychotherapy goals. I also can be an ally in recovery from toxic religious experience.
