About My Clients
I find I am most helpful with folks who are willing to cultivate a more compassionate relationship with their inner experience, with people needing healing and a sense of resolution, and those wanting to find their deeper aspiration. I am here to help.
My Background and Approach
When I was young, I really wanted to make sense of life and suffering--and that evolved into wanting to help others with this, too. So I went back to school to gain a degree in psychology and gained some valuable experience with specific training. I offer my training in Hakomi (mindfulness focused somatic psychotherapy), EMDR, and DBT toward my clients' pursuit of a sense of wellbeing. I strive to be sensitive to the needs of each individual and their own inner wisdom as a guide in the process. Therapy offers a space to explore one's inner world, acknowledge the impact of the external world, build greater awareness and self-acceptance, and find and express one's authentic self. I aim to facilitate clients gaining empowerment through increasing faith in their inner guidance, honoring their values and increasing faith in life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I think that what people call mental health problems is really human suffering. There are causes and conditions for mental suffering, and the internal conditions for mental suffering can be changed. What we learned can be changed. What we feel hurt from can be healed. What is confusing can be brought into clarity, cohesion or resolution. Having experienced that which is ever and always okay, the ground of beingness, I want to help others find groundedness in their own beingness, to live at home in their own bodies even in the midst of the wild world around them.
