About My Clients
The clients I work with are those that have issues that I have real-life experience with. My ideal clients are teachers who may be experiencing issues with overwhelm/burnout, life changes caused by perimenopause/menopause, and empty nesters trying to figure out what's next for them. In addition, I am familiar with working with teens and their families to help get them on track and working as a team.
My Background and Approach
I provide counseling services to individuals, couples, and families. I believe that every individual has the strength and potential to work through issues to attain the highest level of mental wellness possible. I personalize the focus of counseling sessions to the needs of the client(s). I strive to assist my clients in discovering their full potential and learning skills and strategies to help them achieve their goals. This will be done through a variety of counseling methods that will aim at personal growth. My therapeutic approach may include elements from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy, attachment theories, as well as somatic and mindfulness techniques. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
The counseling process is a collaborative relationship between a client and counselor in an environment where clients are safely able to express their thoughts and feelings honestly. Personal work both during and outside of counseling sessions is crucial for counseling to be effective. To get the most out of counseling, you will be asked to assume responsibility for working toward your goals in both the counseling setting, as well as in your daily life
