About My Clients
Do you go to bed believing you’re a failure and wake up feeling stressed or guilty? Many people I work with, particularly moms and women, feel this way. I help people who are dealing with stress, life transitions, parenting, or relationship struggles. I specialize in treating postpartum depression and related problems. You may not be able to eliminate every problem in your life, but you can develop an effective set of coping skills so you can feel less stressed and more optimistic.
My Background and Approach
The most important part of therapy is feeling safe and connected with your therapist. You should feel seen, heard, and accepted. Together we’ll build on this foundation by developing a holistic approach that works best for you. As needed, I offer techniques like mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). I completed my doctorate in clinical social work with research on postpartum depression, and am pursuing PMH-C credentialing. All that really means to you is that I have a lot of education and experience helping people juggle the competing demands and stressors in everyday life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Nobody is perfect, nobody has it all figured out. I hope to help create a safe space for you to explore who you are, what you love, and what makes you happy. Together we will work on learning effective skills to handle challenges in all domains of your life. I've worked hard to build a great relationship with myself, and feel comfortable and confident with who I am. It's my hope that I can help clients with the same journey.
