My Background and Approach
Tug-of-War is such a common problem with parents and children; my strength is in helping parents understand normal child development, set realistic expectations and build upon relationship strengths in order to avoid unnecessary battles. With depression, my goal is to help you confront the underlying issues, challenge critical unsupportive thoughts and develop coping skills that strengthen one's self-concept. In families, we often fail to hear each other or look for compromise; my strength is in helping families acknowledge all perspectives, find a common ground for growth and commit to do no harm. Effective communication is essential in the workplace; I am able to help you communicate without uncontrolled emotion, so that your words are reflective of your intent, impactful and not easily dismissed whether you obtain the desired outcome or not.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in the power of revelation. Some times we are sincerely unaware and just don't know. Some roadblocks or blinders have been with us so long that we think they are permanent fixtures in our life. I do not ascribe to any culturally inherent shortcomings or writing people off. I believe we all have great capacity for change and when presented with an opportunity for growth "many" will apply their new knowledge and soar. I am here for the "many".
