About My Clients
I feel inspired by working with clients who are ready to make a change with behaviors that are no longer serving them, assisting people in finding a healthier relationship with food and their body, supporting more effective communication between family members/loved ones and providing helpful coping tools to better manage difficult emotions. I believe we are all worthy of love, overcoming our past traumas and that everyday is a new opportunity for growth and change.
My Background and Approach
I received my B.A. from University of California, Santa Barbara and my masters in clinical psychology from Antioch University, Santa Barbara. I have worked in all levels of care (residential, PHP, IOP and out-patient) serving individuals suffering from eating disorders, addiction, mental health and homelessness. My approach is progressive, warm and compassionate with clients, partnering to work towards their goals of managing difficult emotions and skillfully coping with life’s adversity. My therapeutic style is eclectic, drawing from Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM) somatic work to psychodynamic, to cognitive behavioral (CBT) and dialectical behavior (DBT) therapies. I'm passionate about working with individuals struggling with body image and eating disorders and strive to help clients understand the purpose their behaviors have served. I believes success is achieved by healing past emotional wounds and sustained by building and strengthening new coping skills.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm passionate about helping others learn to love and believe in themselves. My goal is to help clients learn to have a better relationship with themselves, their bodies and others in their life, in hopes of enriching their overall life experience. I believe everyone deserves to feel worthy, love themselves and see their inner beauty. You deserve this! There is hope.
