About My Clients
My clients are often capable, high-functioning adults who look fine from the outside. Inside, they’re anxious, on edge, or carrying something from the past that still shows up in their sleep, their bodies, or their relationships. Many are the ones everyone else leans on. They come in tired of managing and ready to feel better.
My Background and Approach
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and EMDRIA Certified Therapist. I spent years in community mental health, walking with people through some of the hardest seasons of their lives. My first degree was in science, and it still shapes how I work: curious, practical, and focused on what actually helps. My core tools are EMDR and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). EMDR helps your mind finish processing experiences that got stuck, so old memories lose their charge. ACT helps you make room for hard thoughts and feelings without letting them run your life. In session, I’m warm and direct. I focus on learning about you and accepting you as you are, even if you want to change a few things. We go at your pace, and you decide what we work on. I’ll tell you what I’m noticing, explain why we’re doing what we’re doing, and check that it’s helping. My goal is to help people live rich and fulfilling lives outside of therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe most people are fundamentally good, and that much of what brings them to therapy began as protection that once made sense: the vigilance, the people-pleasing, the walls. Those parts deserve respect, not shame. I believe healing is possible at any age; our brains are built to change, and old pain can lose its grip. I believe in honesty delivered with kindness, and that what’s real, whatever it turns out to be, is always better than a comfortable story. And I believe you don’t have to earn rest, care, acceptance or connection. You’re allowed to be cared for, too.
