About My Clients

I have experience working with teens, young adults and adults, BIPOC, refugee, LGBTQIA, SPMI disorders, co-occurring disorders, addictions. I work with my clients to navigate the multiple intersectionalities they live in from relationship problems, career, identity, education in managing their mental health symptoms, trauma, addiction. You and me will work around skill building to learn how to manage our emotions so we know how to respond efficiently while aligning with your values.

My Background and Approach

I am a dual licensed clinician in social work and alcohol and drug counselor. I engage in a relationship, trauma informed, harm reduction, strengths approach. I truly believe that all of my clients and are resilient and resourceful. You have survived and are courageous to ask for help. As a therapist, I utilize person-centered care and let you drive the treatment. I engage in Motivational Interviewing to learn what you value, your goals, what you would and when you are ready for change. I practice in multiple modalities in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic approach with Brainspotting to focus on skill building to manage symptoms, explore and process trauma and healing, as well as connecting to resources such as a life coach, medical management, medical cannabis, and more.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I engage in using an integrative approach to promote mind, body, and spiritual connections. It is important to integrate wholistic care in psychopharmacology, spiritual healing, mindfulness, neuroscience with understanding of historical trauma that many of us have experienced. Our vulnerabilities connects and empowers us. As a 2nd generation refugee I stand with the LGBTQIA, BLM, fat liberation, decriminalize cannabis and support Southeast Asian community for systematic change while addressing the harm of patriarchy and heteronormative beliefs that invalidates our autonomy to be who we are meant to be. I am passionate in giving back to the community and have previous volunteer experiences as a Big Sister, Karen Mentor, Feed My Starving Children. Giving back has truly been the best gift to me. For it is giving that we receive. - St Francis of Assisi
