About My Clients
I help young adult women with anxiety from relational trauma process their emotions in a safe space and work towards feeling more secure in themselves. Stress or trauma within family and other types of close relationships can affect us very deeply and can affect our ability to feel comfortable with our own emotions and our ability to identify and articulate our needs and feelings to other people. I see clients through online therapy only, and you can be located anywhere in Florida!
My Background and Approach
I have received my Master's and Specialist degrees from the University of Florida in Counselor Education, with a speciality in Mental Health Counseling. My focus is working with young adult women who have a history of confusing or stressful relational experiences with their parents and/or previous romantic partners. Often, stressful relational experiences can cause trauma responses within us, anxiety, depression, and trouble identifying how to manage conflict in relationships and how to identify and communicate our needs to others. I work from a somatic, attachment-based, and trauma-informed lens. I aim to bring a very personable feel to counseling, and I will constantly work to help you feel safe and move at a pace that is comfortable for you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My personal beliefs include that the therapeutic relationship should feel safe, warm, and accepting. We need reliable, trustworthy, and emotionally safe relationships to heal from relational & developmental trauma and I believe in making sure you feel like a valued person with me, not just another patient with a "problem of the week".
