About My Clients
My clients are ready to FINALLY get over their past (that they thought they already worked through but are realizing it still impacts them) and start REALLY having the best lives they can. My clients are ready to dive in and explore how their identities, past experiences, cultures, and traumas have shaped them and their world. They are READY to start writing their life story instead of just witnessing it, and have agreement between what they know to be true in their heads and feel deep down.
My Background and Approach
I am a dually licensed Mental Health Counselor and Marriage and Family Therapist, as well as a nationally certified EMDR therapist and a Gottman Method Level 2 Couples Therapist. I specialize in helping clients heal from past traumas, bad relationships, difficult childhoods, and experiences of discrimination and oppression as well as improve current relationships. I specialize in EMDR- an evidence-based treatment for working through stuck points and trauma. I believe that everything in an individual's life is interconnected. All of our experiences, cultural backgrounds, family structure, the people in our lives, and our choices all combine to make us the unique people that we are. Because of this, I use a holistic approach to incorporate all of these factors to personalize my work to each client's needs. Working with my clients, I explore how all of these factors shape the person and help empower them to take ownership of authoring their life goals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am dedicated to therapy that is respectful, culturally-humble, accepting, and comes from a place of curiosity in guiding your own body and brain's natural drive towards healing. I am committed to fighting against mental health stigma and systemic oppression and strive to help clients empower themselves and others. I make it a professional and personal goal to constantly be improving, learning, challenging my belief system, and fighting for justice and equality for all people. I believe that everyone deserves access to quality mental health care, and I strive to be an advocate for underserved populations. Because of this belief, I reserve scholarship spots for clients who cannot pay my normal rate. I'm a Central Florida native (and Rollins College alumni) who has a passion for great food and wine, quality time with loved ones, deep conversations, and travel. I love being able to help people become their best selves and reach their full potential.
