I am a PhD candidate in relationship therapy and I utilize evidence-based and trauma-informed interventions to promote healing and change.
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in New York
I am level II trained in EMDR and have been trained in Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) for treating complex trauma.
I am queer and was raised in a conservative religious environment. I understand the complex ways our environments influence family dynamics, identity development, and stress responses. I have ran support and processing groups for queer populations and have extensive experience working with queer couples/relationships, including parent-child relationships.
I have 8 years of extensive training from two top 5 universities in the field of Marriage and Family Therapy at both the Masters and the doctoral level. I primarily use EFT and Gottman models, which are the two most evidence-based treatment models for relational therapy and I receive regular EFT training.
I have completed many EFT-specific trainings throughout my career and currently still attend EFT supervision to hone my skills and stay up-to-date on the latest methods or best practices.
I have extensive training in several evidence-based models (e.g., EFT and the Gottman method) and the large majority of my clinical experience is working with couples and families.
I have specialized training in Discernment Counseling and have worked with couples on the brink of divorce or breaking (i.e., discerning what to do) throughout my entire career.
