I was a behavior specialist in education for over 7 years. I have worked with a variety of students helping to manage an array of symptoms stemming from ADHD, ODD, trauma, Autism, Asperger's, developmental and intellectual disabilities, and many more.
I prefer to use the 5-factor model when practicing CBT. This helps display how your cognitions (how you think), affect the way your feel and thus how you behavior in any given scenario. We will explore your negative cognitions and work to provide perspective in order to change your thoughts and habits.
Mindfulness is the combination of cognitive therapy, meditative practices and mindful exercises used to help you tune into your body both physically, mentally and emotionally. We focus on the here and now of each moment and operate from within that stance.
We cannot truly understand ourselves until we understand how we have been developed by our family. Our family shapes us to be the people we are today.
