About My Clients
I often work with people who feel stuck, anxious, burned out, or unsure why the same patterns keep showing up. Whether it’s ADHD, anxiety, trauma, or relationship stress, the common thread is wanting to feel more in control. You just need a willingness to learn and practice, at your own pace. My approach helps you translate awareness and insight into action: learning how to respond to stress and emotion in ways that actually fit you, not just what you’ve been told should work.
My Background and Approach
Before becoming a therapist, I spent six years in psychology research studying how people think, cope, and change. That work taught me to stay curious and look beyond labels—to ask what a response is trying to do for you. I bring that same lens to therapy. I use an integrative approach to help you understand your stress responses instead of judging them. Doom-scrolling at 3 a.m. can feel grounding when your mind won’t quiet down, because it tricks your brain into feeling productive when it can't switch off. Spiraling can feel useful since it gives you something to do with the anxiety you're feeling. And when you have trouble relaxing, it might be because your system learned that staying alert was the best way to keep you functioning. Together we look at what these patterns are trying to help with, where they come from, and how they can start to work differently. My goal is to help you understand what’s happening and respond with more clarity, choice, and self-trust.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I was diagnosed with ADHD as a teen and have lived with anxiety for most of my life, so I understand what it’s like to be self-aware yet still feel stuck. Over time I’ve learned that neurodivergent brains work differently, not worse, and that anxiety isn’t weakness—it’s protection that’s just gotten stuck on high alert. Once I started working with my brain and body instead of fighting them, everything changed. I come from a diverse family—across age, background, ethnicity, and beliefs—and I welcome anyone from any walk of life or stage of change. My rescue dog, Leo, sits beside me in sessions like he takes his job seriously. I love animals, traveling, and most music (except jazz—no offense, it’s a sensory thing). I bring humor into sessions and show up as myself so you can too.
