About My Clients
I've served numerous individuals dealing with all kinds of heavy, chaotic, and life-changing situations. Some of them have been single parents, violence/manipulation survivors, those with chronic illness, professional helpers, and adult children of addicted parents. I have training and certifications for struggles like grief, chronic illness, differing abilities, trauma, and experiences of hate related to identity.
My Background and Approach
I earned my Bachelor’s of Social Work from University of Cincinnati and my Master’s of Social Work from The Ohio State University. I've used those degrees and my license to work in homeless shelters, interpersonal violence shelters, hospitals, health clinics, homes, and via telehealth to meet individuals where they are physically and mentally. I utilize a combination of types of therapy to find what each unique client is responsive to and what is most helpful for them. I have training to utilize EMDR, CBT, Solution-Focused, and other therapy modalities. I'm always trying to learn more and keep up with what my clients need most.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I deeply believe in equity, compassion, unity despite differences, the beauty of everyone's intersections within their identity, and dignity for all. I truly believe that what we go through does not define or ruin us. I participate in the National Association of Social Workers, Ohio Legislative Committee, so that the committee can influence politics and policies that consider minorities just as much as the majority. I believe in acceptance amongst spiritual/religious differences. Lastly, I'm an avid believer in adopting/rescuing animals.
