About My Clients
Have you had the same argument with a partner or ex-partner over and over again? Do you struggle to enjoy sex in the way you think you should? Do you feel lonely in your relationships? Have you tried dating, but nothing seems to work out? I hear you. That's so hard. You must be tired. I provide guidance and a safe place to explore these very human struggles. I work with couples (and polycules), and individuals (teens and adults).
My Background and Approach
I am a systemic therapist. This means I will look at the whole picture of your life and relationships and how they impact one another. I have extensive training in sex therapy and can help you navigate a broad range of sexual issues, expressions, and identities. I am poly/CNM, queer, and kink affirming. At the start of therapy, we will collaborate to create your treatment goals for therapy (what you want to get out of the experience). Once we have our goals established, I don't waste time in creating a strategy and providing you with tools to accomplish those goals. I will empathetically support you, while also challenging you within reason. My biggest goal as a therapist is to provide you with the tools and resources you need to no longer need therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe as human beings we all have an inherent right to live, love, and express ourselves in the ways that make us genuinely happy. I believe that pleasure is a birth right. I believe that people are always capable of change. I think the main reason people develop mental health issues is the situations they find themselves in, situations that are not their fault. Everyone's behavior makes sense for their context and what they might have been going through at the time. Oftentimes, there are factors outside of our control, like late-stage capitalism, systemic oppression, and intergenerational trauma that negatively impact our mental health and our view of ourselves. Sometimes we are too afraid to live as who we really are. As a queer/kinky person myself, I try my best to support people in finding their own form of resistance against the things in their lives that tell them they are not enough/too much/not worthy. No matter what brings you to therapy, I will hear you without judgement.
