About My Clients
Do you ever feel stuck in the past or like the past is showing up in the present? Do you feel haunted by grief, shame anger, regret, or an incessant stream of "what if's" due to past trauma, heartbreak, or loss? My goal is to help you process the past and find strategies to live in the present. This means addressing the noise inside your mind, calming and reconnecting to your body, and finding passion and purpose in your day to day life.
My Background and Approach
I've been in the mental health field for 15 years and specialize in trauma and substance use treatment. I take a holistic and integrative approach, utilizing the modalities that make the most sense for YOU and YOUR journey. I pull from cognitive and body-based approaches and use mindfulness and values as a foundation. I am trained in CPT, DBT, PE, CBT, Trauma Sensitive Yoga, MBSR, Relapse Prevention, & Seeking Safety. (Reach out and I'm happy to decode that alphabet soup for you!) Regardless of modality I am ALWAYS client-centered, strengths-based, culturally humble and trauma informed. I meet patients where they're at and take a harm reduction approach across the board. I also have specialized training for, experience with, and a passion for supporting veterans and their families, sexual assault survivors, and LGBTQ+ individuals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Though my passion is working with individuals, I recognize that healing trauma extends beyond personal experiences. There is ongoing harm caused by a number of systems and structures of oppression within our society. I pursued my MBA in Healthcare Management to be able to start to challenge and evolve these broken systems and to advocate for the expansion of accessible, trauma-informed, patient-centered care.
