About My Clients

Across the lifespan we are tasked with growing, maintaining, and pruning relationships and I have a true passion for working with people who want to improve their connections. I work well with those who want to date smarter, work through infertility, reconnect while raising children, aging relationships, and manage distressed relationships. I have a particular passion for working with adult children of narcissistic parents and helping people to establish comfortable and healthy boundaries.

My Background and Approach

I am in my second year of a post-graduate clinical fellowship, where I am receiving ongoing advanced clinical training and supervision in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based practices for mood and anxiety disorders. I have strong experience with generalized anxiety and am passionate about treating social anxiety. My interest in improving relationships across the lifespan has led me to pursue evidence-based relationship enhancement trainings including the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I have additional training to work with peri and postnatal depression and anxiety as well as treating complex and relational trauma. I work hard to develop a deep therapeutic relationship with each of my clients. My clients are typically ones who employ humor to understand difficulty and I work to bring energy, understanding, and insight to each session.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe strongly in appropriate disclosure and my personal background has led to a desire to serve the LGBTQ community as well as those who are kinky, immigrants, and those who are religious. I have lived in five countries and believe that a person and their culture are linked. As a result I work to understand a clients culture through both their lens and by doing research outside of session (it's not your job to inform your therapist on everything!) I have extensive experience in working with many faith backgrounds. I am particularly comfortable with those who have experienced religious trauma. I understand the complexities that come from being raised in religion and enjoy helping clients to balance the positives of community with pain of religious conservatism. I have worked with members of the kink and poly communities and affirm both as healthy ways to experience relationships. I particularly love working with couples where one is kinky and the other is vanilla.
