About My Clients
I have really enjoyed working with children diagnosed with Autism, so I am excited to potentially get the opportunity to work with teens and young adults diagnosed with Autism. I also enjoy supporting those who have anxiety, depression and some behavioral disorders.
My Background and Approach
I have had a wide array of experience post-grad school. I started off in Child Welfare where I investigated reports of child abuse and neglect, supporting children of all ages throughout the life of the case. I then transitioned to Foster Care where I was an individual therapist for both children and their families, with a focus on transitions, emotion processing and coping skills. Most recently, I have been working with young children diagnosed with Autism in a clinic setting where our work is focused on peer engagement, social skill development, emotion processing and coping skills. I have a training certificate in Crisis Prevention and CPR.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My favorite saying is that even therapists need a therapist. I have a therapist I've been working with for almost 3 years now and she has helped me in so many ways that I couldn't even imagine. The struggles and challenges that I face in my own life have been things that I felt were not experienced by others or validated and my therapist has helped me through all of it. She helps me grow so I can help my clients grow and that has shaped me as a therapist.
