About My Clients
My clients are looking to find a place of growth and support, which is an environment I make sure to create in our sessions. I work with a lot of young adults dealing with interpersonal conflict who are on a journey for self-empowerment and self-growth. I have a particular passion for working with athletes, especially at the high-school and college level, as I've worked in sports medicine at both levels and have done volunteer work with college athletes.
My Background and Approach
Everyone deserves a space where they can be their true selves and speak openly. I think there comes a sense of power and healing being able to express your thoughts and feelings without judgement. Therapy can be the space that provides that empowerment, and my goal is to help my clients experience that moment of finding their truest self. I have experience in guiding clients through complex life transitions, and I enjoy combining a strengths-based and empowerment approach with my training in more depth-oriented therapy. I also have experience working with adolescents whose families are going through transitions like divorce and the grief that often accompanies it.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I strongly believe that therapy is for everyone, and I actively fight against the stigma that stops many people from seeking care. I believe that taking care of both body and mind is key to living a fulfilling life. At Sanctuary Counseling, everyone is worthy of love, support, and acceptance. We are committed to the support of the LGBTQIA+ community in our area, and provide a safe space for our clients to explore and grow in their identity. We believe that Black Lives Matter, and continually endeavor to ensure not only a justice-informed community of healing, but also to dedicate ourselves to proactively anti-racist education and counseling interventions. We also are committed to our Manna Basket Financial Program, which takes 10% of our receipts before taxes and is used to provide assistance to those clients who may need financial support. This is our biggest effort to combat financial holdbacks for those who are seeking services.
