About My Clients

If you're the person who always seems to hold it all together for everyone else but inside you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, or emotionally exhausted, and you're here, it might be time to lay down that armor. Unhealed, traumatic wounds from our childhood or unhealthy relationships can create vicious, exhausting cycles of anxiety, attachment wounds, confusion, and grief. Trauma-informed and somatic work can help break the cycle and give you the freedom and empowerment you deserve

My Background and Approach

After over 8 years of meeting clients are their most vulnerable points in their lives, I have found that the therapeutic alliance is at the core of the work we do together -- everything else comes naturally after that. My therapeutic approach is eclectic and integrative, drawing on relational, cultural, and attachment-based methods to support a strong therapeutic alliance where safety, security, and authenticity are nurtured. Growth happens when you feel safe enough to connect with vulnerability and the deepest parts of yourself that may not have been shown to others because of shame or fear. We'll work collaboratively to explore those deep parts, as well as explore practical tools to support you in managing the challenges that have you feeling anxious and overwhelmed. EMDR, CBT, IFS, ACT, somatic, and mindfulness approaches at rooted in my work with clients to gently and safely reconnect the mind and body that often becomes fragmented by trauma, grief and past attachment wounds.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As a Caribbean-American (Puerto Rican and Bajan) woman who has had her fair share of trauma, grief, and attachment challenges, I drew on those experiences to become the therapist I am today. Cultural-attunement, inclusivity, and safety is essential to my work, and the messages we receive from others and our environment has a HUGE impact on how we see ourselves. I want my clients to feel understood and safe; no topic is shamed here. We are unique beings with so much richness, and part of that includes our sexuality, gender expression, racial and cultural expression, and the impact of how we "fit" (or don't!) into society's script. If you want to learn more about how I can help, reach out!
