My Background and Approach
Dr. Justin Shewell is a Licensed Psychologist (Psy.D.) and Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Georgia with extensive training and experience treating OCD, anxiety, and related disorders. He earned degrees in social work from McDaniel College and the University of Maryland before completing his master's and doctoral training in clinical psychology at the Florida Institute of Technology. Dr. Shewell completed a 2,000-hour APA-accredited internship in Denver, Colorado, providing psychotherapy and psychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults. His experience spans schools, hospitals, college counseling centers, residential treatment programs, community mental health settings, and private practice. He specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and other evidence-based treatments, helping clients reduce symptoms and build lasting skills for managing anxiety and OCD.
