About My Clients
Learning self-care, kindness to self and healthier boundaries is a lifelong journey. I have a special interest helping adults 18-64 and teens 13+ coping with depression, anxiety, bipolar, ADHD, LGBTQIA+ issues, codependence/adult child issues, divorce/relationship/dating issues, self-esteem, substance use/recovery, grief/loss, religious/spiritual concerns, and work/life transitions, among others.
My Background and Approach
I am here to help people find joy in life, not just survive it. I blend CBT, Narrative, and Somatic therapy methods to help clients find peace within themselves and their bodies. Together, we will build trust and harness your body's wisdom for use in your healing. I will listen for what nurtures your growth. Your pace and comfort level are crucial on your journey. I may challenge you at times, but always gently and with kindness, and only when you are ready. You may rediscover laughter, joy and play. You, ultimately, are the Traveler, and I am here to help you hold your lamp a little higher. I have years of experience both as practitioner and fellow traveler. I humbly offer my compassion, insight, and humor to those who might benefit.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a social worker and addictions counselor with more than 29 years of experience, I believe growth best takes root if first we accept ourselves just as we are. Everyone is worthy of love and acceptance regardless of identity. Breathe. Take time out for you. One step, one small shift at a time, you create your serenity in this ever-changing world.
