I see Individuals, Adolescents, and Couples. My main expertise/specialty is Sports Counseling/Sports performance. My Background and Approach
I am an LPC Associate (LPC-A) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). My specialties include Sports Performance, performance anxiety, Men's Issues, and Life transformations. I take from theoretical backing or Solution-focus brief theory, Existential theory, Narrative theory, and Informed-dialectic behavioral theory. My therapeutic approach to my specialties is straightforward with therapeutic approaches. We talk about struggles that the clients are facing and work to find ways to help them gain a better life than before. I empower my clients to be collaborative in the process and create a road to what they want to strive for. Once they see the work that they have done, we can look to further enhance their lives
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Our lives can be filled with authentic joy and I believe counseling can help individuals accomplish that goal. My role as a counselor is to create an authentic environment of trust, understanding, and consistent with the client's goals. I believe in a therapeutic process that promotes change for the betterment of the client, challenging and confronting irrational thoughts and beliefs, and encouraging lived experiences and cultural lenses to be an important part of counseling. As a former dual sport college athlete, I understand the unique success and challenges that come with being an athlete at any age and level. My counseling style is open-minded and optimistic while not being afraid to achieve client goals by being straightforward in my approach. I use a mirage of techniques and backgrounds to help my client in their own unique way. This allows responsibility and ownership to be cooperative during our time together. People want to have a joyful life and I strive to help.
