About My Clients

I know what it's like to be stuck between two cultures. Burned out in tech. Rocked by illness. So I know first hand that breath that catches when you switch cultures. The nervous system jammed in fifth gear, even on vacation. The body that feels foreign after a diagnosis. You can't think your way out of a body that won't settle, so we won't begin there. My approach to somatic therapy starts underneath the story: through the body and with the parts of you that words alone can't reach.

My Background

Your body isn't just scenery here. It's the protagonist. We'll follow your movement, sensation, and breath as seriously as any words you might say. Somatic psychotherapy and Dance/Movement Therapy provide our direction; your culture and history set the stage, not just something we work around. Along the way, you'll learn to trust what your body tells you, before you find words for it. For a bit of my clinical background, I hold an M.A. in Somatic Counseling from Naropa University, and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Colorado, a Board-Certified Dance/Movement Therapist (BC-DMT), and an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS). I have 8+ years of practice, trauma and crisis experience from years supporting domestic violence survivors, and additional training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Social Justice & Multicultural Methods.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

None of this is theoretical for me. I've personally experienced translating between two worlds as an immigrant, grinding through tech that hardly gave me room to breathe, and receiving heavy health diagnoses. That's why multicultural, social justice-informed care is core to how I practice, and why I bring affinity to BIPOC clients and others facing tech burnout or serious illness of their own. Teaching runs alongside my clinical work. My years as faculty in Naropa University's Somatic Counseling program still shape how I supervise LPC candidates and R-DMTs working toward BC-DMT credentialing today. Humor, creativity, and collaboration run through everything I do, shaped by years in improvisational arts and an Aikido practice that's taught me to meet conflict without losing myself. And, I promise that this will be the person in the room with you. If you've read this far, you know more about me than most first sessions cover. I'd love to continue the conversation.
