About My Clients
Does it seem like your mind is never quiet? Is it hard to feel relaxed or safe? Maybe you believe you need to hide parts of yourself, leaving you feeling isolated or misunderstood. Perhaps your emotions are overwhelming or difficult to manage, or it's hard to feel truly connected to other people. These feelings can be incredibly isolating, but you are not alone. Therapy can help you build the confidence and strength you need to feel fulfilled and connected.
My Background and Approach
I have 15 years of experience working with clients who have experienced child abuse, complex trauma, and sexual trauma. I also work with neurodivergent children and adults to manage symptoms associated with ADHD and Autism, including sensory overstimulation and the intersection of neurodiversity and trauma. In my practice, we explore how your experiences have impacted your beliefs about yourself, your relationships, and your emotional reactions. We focus on both logical understanding and emotional awareness so you can let go of shame, gain insight into your reactions, and learn strategies to find relief and cope with challenges. If you are struggling with trauma, the challenges that come along with neurodivergence, or major life stressors, you deserve support. In therapy we will work collaboratively to identify your inherent strengths and use them as a foundation for change. I believe strongly in resilience and self-determination and will tailor therapy to your needs at your pace.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that anyone in need should have access to mental health care. Your identity or political beliefs should never be a barrier to accessing the care that you need. You deserve to feel safe and accepted no matter who you are or what you believe. I work with all of my clients to define their own beliefs and values and to make decisions in accordance with those values.
