I use narrative therapy help people to identify their values and the skills associated with them. It provides the knowledge of their ability to live these values so they can effectively confront current and future problems. Is a style of therapy that helps people become—and embrace being—an expert in their own lives. In narrative therapy, there is an emphasis on the stories we develop and carry with us through our lives.

Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy, or MBCT, is designed for people who suffer from repeated bouts of depression or chronic unhappiness. It combines the ideas of cognitive therapy with meditative practices and attitudes based on the cultivation of mindfulness. MBCT helps people separate themselves from their thoughts and moods, and teaches them how to recognize their sense of being. It also aims to give participants the necessary tools to combat depressive symptoms as they arise.

Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) offers individuals comprehensive skills to manage painful memories and emotions and decrease conflicts in their relationships.Many of us live our daily lives with a constant stream of uncontrollable negative emotions right under our awareness.

In our sessions we will talk about your life story, we will look really deeply at what is driving these anxious thoughts and depressive feelings. We will take these thoughts on and work to change your chain of anxiety and depressive links. We will resolve those deep dive discoveries. You will be able to take a deep breathe and feel at ease again. No more racing hearts, no more worst case scenarios, no more beating yourself up.

That weight on your shoulder will go away. We will talk about some new ways to think and look at this painful story. We will give you skills to manage your thoughts and feelings. You will build confidence as this process unfolds. And then one day you will be on the other side of this life experience. You will be able to talk about it with out crying. You will feel strong again. Your dreams will stop. You can then exhale and feel calm again. You can look forward without these painful experiences

You wonder if you have PTSD……. Trauma can present differently in each person. When you experience a sudden event or change in your life it can set off a trauma reaction. It either creates a “flight” or “fight” response. If this upsetting news or event can’t be processed by the mind it impacts you in a few different ways.
