IFS is a really incredible model that helps you understand yourself in a unique way. It helps makes sense of why we often feel so conflicted within ourselves about decisions, behaviors, and relationships. I have found it really helpful with clients who binge eat, self-sabotage, and stay "on the fence" for months with decision-making. I love using IFS with clients who really want to know themselves better, increase their self-awareness, and learn how to trust themselves more.
EMDR is such a powerful technique in therapy. It helps clients release the emotion and pain they feel each time they think of an old trauma, without having to relive it. In fact, you don't have to share any details with me at all! It also helps clients connect the dots to see how that event created a negative belief about themselves, such as: I'm not good enough I'm helpless I'm abandoned I need to always be in control Once we name it, they can release it and it has no control over them!
Self-Esteem issues seem to be harder for women today than ever. Society expects us to look a certain way, balance important responsibilities, and do it all with a perfect smile. No wonder most of us walk around with a feeling of never being "good enough." My favorite thing to help clients work through is changing the narrative that they are supposed to be anything other than who THEY want to be and silence the internal voice that constantly beats them up. It's possible to get there- I promise!

I use a combination of interventions (including EMDR) to help rewire the nervous system so that it doesn't always feel "on edge." Combine that with grounding techniques to help your body feel more regulated so that you can feel free from anxious thoughts and feelings- for good!

Whether you have been diagnosed with PTSD, or you just have a feeling your past trauma is causing issues in your current life- there is hope for change! I care more about your story than your diagnosis. I use a combination of EMDR and IFS- both are incredibly powerful ways to release the negative emotions and fears your body holds on to after surviving trauma. The goal is to release them for good, not to have you relive your trauma in session!
