About My Clients

You may have learned to stay busy, avoid difficult feelings or put other people first because it helped you get through something. Now those same habits may be leaving you anxious, disconnected or unsure of what you want. I work with adults navigating trauma, grief, recovery, ADHD and major life changes, including adoption and divorce. We can understand what shaped these patterns without judging how you learned to cope. To work with me, book through my website.

My Background and Approach

My work is collaborative and nonjudgmental. I don’t see therapy as a place where someone tells you what is wrong with you. We’ll create a space where you can ask difficult questions, sit with big emotions and understand why certain thoughts or behaviors keep showing up. I use CBT, ACT, DBT, mindfulness and trauma-focused approaches. We may look at how your thoughts affect what you do, explore what happens when you avoid a difficult feeling or build practical skills for handling stress and regulating emotions. I also draw on neuroscience, self-compassion and an understanding that none of us develops in isolation. Family relationships and the world around us can deeply shape how we see ourselves. You bring the knowledge of your own life. I bring clinical experience, curiosity and honest support. We’ll decide together what feels most useful and adjust the work as your needs change.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My understanding of change is informed by my own experiences with adoption, grief, divorce, mental health recovery and changing careers. I know that a major transition can raise questions that go well beyond the event itself, including who you are now and which parts of your old life still fit. I believe understanding why you developed a pattern makes it easier to meet yourself with compassion, but it doesn’t mean you have to stay there. Therapy can help you recognize what once protected you, decide what is no longer working and try something different. I also value creativity and humor. There can be room for both in therapy, even when the work itself is difficult.
