About My Clients
A large part of the way we feel about life and who we are is nourished by our connection to ourselves and others. We live in a fast paced, competitive culture that makes us so preoccupied with "getting it all done" that we lose touch with ourselves. Tackling depression and anxiety seems hopeless. How do you change your thought patterns and escape the cycle of self defeat? Let's work together and get a new perspective on everything that life has thrown at you.
My Background and Approach
My primary approach in counseling is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. This approach is based on the idea that your thoughts influence your emotions and your behavior. My mission is to help you find solutions, give you tools to use and help you find your confidence. Every person has a story. I want to hear yours and work with you to make the changes you desire. Searching for the right counselor is overwhelming! Finding someone that you feel is the best fit for you is the very first step and the most important factor in your journey to healing. Counseling will enable you to learn skills that will help you deal with depression, anxiety, and issues you may be dealing with in your relationships. You are unique, resilient, and you have the strength to make changes and manage your life. The journey begins with one step. You can do it.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a Christian. I am married and have two adult children. I also have two fur babies. I have 30 years experience as a teacher and counselor. I am active in my church, serving others, and dog rescue. I value honesty, humility, and humor. I bring all of those to the counseling relationship. I think the ways in which I stand out are that I am direct and I often find idiosyncratic ways to look at issues and challenges. Everyone has gifts to offer. Have you found yours? I believe you are the expert of your life and we will work together to find solutions that work for you.
