About My Clients
Discovery and change. Using music, sound and art to explore your inner live and challenges, you might discover new ways of coping. Holding emotions tightly in our bodies leads to dis-ease. Finding creative ways to express them leads to ease and well-being. No prior musical training is necessary to participate successfully in this process. The goal? Find your voice, use your breath to meet anxiety, and use rhythm to connect mind and body. I will support you with warmth, patience and diligence.
My Background and Approach
Therapy is collaboration. And that collaboration can take many roads to success. We might make sounds, improvise or listen to music, sing or make art to explore and express issues that stem from experiences of trauma, grief and loss, that often lead to stress, anxiety and depression. The process of creative expression helps access buried emotions. We then process those verbally and find appropriate coping skills. My approach is to support my clients in their goals and meet them where they are. Starting with your creativity and strengths will be the base for the therapeutic process.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Having been a musician my whole life, I have experienced the power of music first hand. Music and art can connect us back to joy and being more playful in the midst of lives' challenges. Using our body to develop healthy breathing habits to counter anxiety is just one first step, working with the voice to vocalize what is hard to put into words, or drumming and moving are other steps towards more balance and well-being. If you are open to explore how music and art can help you finding coping skills, don't hesitate to contact me with any questions that you might have.
