Humans need healthy connection in order to survive. When we feel disconnected and unhappy with our partner we can often suffer emotionally, mentally, or in our work and other relationships. I am passionate about helping couples of all kinds heal their relationship and begin to find safe and healthy connection. I am trained in Emotionally Focused Couples therapy, which is an evidence based treatment for couples who are stuck in painful patterns of communication and behavior.
I have worked with many clients who were suffering from the painful symptoms of depression. It is so important to me to provide a space for these clients to move slow, to grieve, to take baby steps, and to have a plan for when scary thoughts and feelings arise. Depression can be sticky, and it can feel as though all hope is lost. I use a combination of CBT as well as attachment based interventions to heal the core beliefs and wounds contributing to the depression symptoms.
I have experience working with the LGBTQIA community here in Nashville. I work with clients who are exploring their gender identity, expression, sexuality, and beliefs about who they are. I have experience helping clients walk through wounding experiences that have come from their religious community, family, friend group, or larger cultural messaging. I am passionate about empowering clients to explore new boundaries, and invest in people and places that are safe and affirming.
