My Background and Approach
I’m Julia Spenadel, MA, LPCC, ATR-P. Licensed counselor and art therapist offering telehealth and in person sessions, support rooted in neurodivergent-affirming values. I blend evidence-based practices (DBT, Motivational Interviewing, trauma-informed care) with creative expression to help clients access what words alone can’t carry. My approach is collaborative, flexible, and centered on your authentic self: we’ll co-create a path that fits your pace, goals, and needs. Drawing from my lived ADHD experience, I lean into curiosity, warmth, and honest communication. In sessions, we might draw, collage, or play with imagery, not to create "good art," but to externalize emotions, deepen insight, and build new tools for regulation, connection, and growth. If you’ve felt stuck in talk-only therapy, this space invites a different doorway to healing: creative, relational, and grounded in your inner wisdom.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone can change and grow at any time in their lives. I don't believe that there is a limit to human capacity. I think we all do the best we can with the resources we have, and in therapy we will develop more resources to make life easier and less stressful to you.
