About My Clients
Do you always feel either wired and anxious, or shut down and hopeless? Constantly cycling through bursts of energy and absolute exhaustion? I’ve been there, done that, and went to school to help others out of this same cycle. Your body isn’t your enemy, even if it feels that way at times. Our bodies are so wise and protect us so well, but sometimes we see threats where there are none (or stay in familiar relationship patterns that keep us on high alert). Let’s change patterns and find safety!
My Background and Approach
In our first few sessions, we will create a map of your nervous system using Polyvagal Theory. This tool helps us better understand your body and how it uniquely reacts to stress. From there we will begin building a tool belt of skills and strategies that work specifically for your triggers. My goal is not for you to never get triggered into fight/flight or freeze but rather help you come back to safety once real threats have passed.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe every human deserves a safe, compassionate, empathic space where you can deeply feel all of your emotions, and be deeply cared for and respected through each emotion. I believe authenticity and honesty are the very first steps in finding health. I believe you have the tools to break through generational mental health chains and change your future, no matter what today looks like. I am also deeply aware that though as humans we are more similar than we are different, each person has a complex and unique story. Much like our fingerprints foreshadow, no two people are completely identical (even identical twins have their differences!). Thus mental health treatment can’t look identical from client to client. I can’t wait to collaborate with you on your next steps in this journey towards greater health!
