I have over 10 years of experience supporting women with infertility. My experience began as a peer support group leader and has expanded as I've grown into professional roles. I've completed advanced trainings in infertility counseling through the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. I stay update to date on current research, fertility treatments, and resources available to individuals and couples as they embark on their journey to parenthood.
I've completed advanced trainings in pregnancy loss, miscarriage, and abortion in order to provide compassionate & culturally competent care. My experiences includes supporting women and mothers through miscarriage, still birth, and terminations for medical reasons. I also have experience providing a safe space for women who are considering, have decided to, or have completed releasing a pregnancy. It's important that you feel seen, heard, and supported without shame and judgment.
As a Certified Perinatal Mental Health clinician, I have extensive experience helping women and mothers navigate the complexities of pregnancy and postpartum. Some areas of experience include: difficult or high-risk pregnancies, premature birth and NICU parenting, carrying a baby with a life-limiting diagnosis, preparing for birth and postpartum from a mental health perspective, previous birth-related trauma, unexpected birth story, and postpartum mood disorders.
I use an integrative approach to therapy, allowing for us to truly focus on your specific needs & therapy goals. We won't be stuck using a particular method or theory, but instead can utilize multiple tools, skills, and techniques to ensure your care is just as unique as you. The foundation of my approach is client-centered & strengths-based. I'm ADHD-friendly and utilize a Health at Every Size framework with all of my work.
I am trained in EMDR with a focus on women's health to include reproductive & perinatal trauma. Unlike traditional talk therapy, it doesn't involve a lot of talking, which some find especially helpful when it comes to addressing past trauma.
ADHD Women are often overlooked, misdiagnosed, and dismissed by healthcare providers of all types. I often meet women who are unaware of their neurodivergence and view their difficulties as shortcomings. I often hear, "I'm not good enough", "I'm not smart enough", "I have to work twice as hard compared to others". My background includes a lifetime of experience as an ADHDer, advanced trainings in ADHD, and the latest tools, skills, and methods to help ADHDers manage it all.
As a woman therapist, I've dedicated my practice to supporting the unique needs of women. Nothing is off the table here -- anxiety, depression, self-esteem & body image, relationships, sexual health, work-life balance, motherhood, & self-discovery -- if it's on your mind, it's worth talking about. Areas of specific interest & experience are: hormone-related mood disorders, sexual health & reproductive mental health, emotional eating, anxiety/stress management, and authentic self-care.
