About My Clients
I work mostly with adults in their 20s and enjoy helping my clients navigate early adulthood and the specific issues that tend to feel overwhelming at this time in our lives. The majority of my clients are members of the LGBTQ+ community, and I enjoy working with clients who are exploring life transitions, anxiety, relationship dynamics, and finding peace within one's self.
My Background and Approach
I have worked across a variety of settings, including community health centers and high schools, before beginning my private practice. Currently, I work at The Meeting Point, a collaborative of independent clinicians in Jamaica Plain. We share values of providing mental health care through the lens of social justice and in a way that acknowledges the role of oppression in mental illness and distress.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a queer therapist, I'm honored to be able to work with members of my own community, and to approach mental health in a way that acknowledges both one's immediate surroundings and the broader societal framework as having an impact on mental wellbeing. While I think it's important to validate that mental health can be impacted by history, current environment, and individual psychology, I will never try to convince a client that the oppressive backdrop of our day to day lives is unimportant or unrelated to mental health. Part of my approach is to help clients find community, access resources that work for them, and build a life worth living in a holistic way that does not rely on only therapy to enhance mental health. In my free time I enjoy playing music, being in nature, and cooking!
