About My Clients
Your career works, the house runs, and something important doesn’t. As a couple, it may be the same fight on a loop, polite distance, or a betrayal with no clear sense of whether to stay. On your own, you may carry more than anyone sees, or have attention that never quite cooperated. Families arrive when money, a business, or a second marriage changed things nobody has named. You’re smart enough to understand yourself and capable enough to keep functioning. You need someone who gets past both.
My Background and Approach
I spent 15 years shaping my clinical skills and experience at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto, a world-renowned teaching hospital and global leader in psychiatric research. I also taught and supervised graduate clinicians at the University of Toronto for ten years. For you, that means we find the real pattern quickly. With couples, I use the Gottman Method (Level 3, Certified Seven Principles Leader, trained in treating trauma and affairs), Emotionally Focused Therapy, and discernment counseling when one of you is leaning out. My psychodynamic foundation explains why you keep repeating the pattern, so the change holds. With individuals, I work with driven people facing burnout, ADHD, identity shifts, and decisions they keep circling. As a Certified Financial Social Worker, I discuss money in the room, which matters for families sorting out wealth or a business. Warm doesn’t mean passive. I ask hard questions and challenge the assumptions keeping you stuck.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Being capable and being stuck can both be true, and neither one is a failing. Most people I see have spent years as the person who handles things, and asking for help doesn’t come naturally to them. Kindness without honesty keeps people stuck, so I'll tell you what I see, carefully and directly. Money belongs in the therapy room. It shapes who feels safe, who gets a say, and who feels like a partner, and the field treats it as off-limits far more often than it should. Relationships can repair after real damage. Sometimes the honest answer is a clear ending, and you deserve to reach either one with your eyes open. For many of my clients, privacy is a real requirement. That’s part of why Reclaim is private pay: your care is organized around your life rather than an insurer’s definition of medical necessity. I welcome clients of every background, identity, and family structure.
