About My Clients

The shame of not being in control of your life can feel so isolating and anxiety provoking. And the thought of talking about it with someone else can feel paralyzing. How did I get here? Why can't I fix this on my own? Why do I keep going back? What is wrong with me? Do I have a drinking problem? Why can't I sleep? Do I need to quit or can I just cut back? Why is my relationship so difficult? Why can't I follow through on my promises to myself? These nagging thoughts could go on and on.

My Background and Approach

I'm an addiction informed mental health therapist that welcomes people at all stages of recovery. Whether you are thinking about cutting back, returning to recovery after relapse, needing continued support after treatment, or finding yourself wanting more from your sustained sobriety. Clients tell me that I am genuine and non-judgmental. They feel safe talking about things that they have been avoiding for years. And most of my clients say the process of self-discovery is less scary than they thought and they wished they would not have waited this long to make a change. I promise to be fully present and encourage you to trust the process of change, explore your inner strengths and notice the the things you fear most. And when you don't feel confident in staying with the process, I will be sure to reflect back what makes you important in this world. Take a deep breath. You have what it takes. I look forward to meeting you!

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe everyone has a different path for addiction recovery and I encourage clients to be the driver of the therapy process. Planting Seeds Recovery was created to be a place where you can be curious and explore why you do what you do. I believe everyone engages in behaviors to avoid unwanted thoughts and feelings and for some of us, it is drugs and alcohol. As an addiction specialist, I spend most of my time learning about new and innovative ways to move toward a life worth living, both for myself and for my clients. I value working on myself in the same way I encourage my clients to work toward their goals. Bringing awareness to our process can be incredibly enlightening. We can see things differently, make small shifts that make huge changes, and build compassion around our humanness. Outside of the therapy office, you will find me spending time with my husband, two kids, listening to podcasts, watching Netflix, going to the farmers market, and going to the gym.
