My Background and Approach
I began my social work career working in schools with children with disabilities. I’ve also worked in medical settings with people who are facing serious medical issues. I’ve also been trained in Exposure Response Prevention therapy for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Very few therapists in Iowa are trained to provide this type of extremely effective therapy. I'm also trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Insomnia, which is the first recommended treatment for Insomnia before medications. Theses areas of treatment are my passion and I LOVE to help people overcome and manage their anxiety, OCD, and insomnia!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in the value and worth of every individual. I believe that we are all capable of making changes in ourselves and growing throughout our entire lives. Therapy is a process that can help you make those changes that can bring you closer to the peace and balance you so desire to have. After many years of education, experience, and specialized training, I’ve become skilled at teaching people the strategies they need to make changes in their behaviors, thoughts and feelings.
