About My Clients
I work with adults of all ages, individually and/or with their partner, who are experiencing anxiety, depression, and/or relationship challenges. Once clients feel comfortable enough to share their experiences with me, we focus on gaining insights into their behaviors and work to establish effective strategies for better coping. With couples, effort is devoted to promoting effective communication, emotional connection, trust, and successful conflict resolution.
My Background and Approach
My goal is to help you identify, understand, and communicate the issues, feelings, and behaviors that are bothering you. I work to inspire insight, self-awareness, and positive change- the change that you have been desperately struggling to accomplish on your own. My specialized training as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist allows me the ability to identify and understand problematic interactions and patterns in conflictual relationships. I am experienced not only in individual counseling, but also in working with more than one client at a time. Together we will work to break down communication barriers, resolve ongoing conflicts, and enhance your emotional and physical connection with your partner. I have extensive post graduate degree training in research-based and evidence-based approaches that include, but are not limited to: Emotionally Focused Therapy; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy; and EMDR, a treatment used for recovery from trauma.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
It takes a lot of courage to begin counseling and to open up to a complete stranger. I honor and respect that fact from the minute you make your first contact with me. My therapeutic approach is warm, nonjudgmental, collaborative, and interactive. I will provide you with a peaceful environment in which to feel comfortable and safe expressing your self openly and honestly- in order for us to work toward a path that’s uniquely right for you.
