About My Clients

Recent life events, transitions, or news have led you to seek support and learn healthier coping skills for more peace, joy, and energy. You desire guidance to overcome frequent self-doubt, passive-aggressive, or avoidant behaviors - familiar patterns in your family and past relationships. You want to improve your self-esteem and confidence to cope and make your own decisions without spiraling or immobilizing anxiety, needless overthinking, guilt, shame/regret, or seeking approval from others.

My Background and Approach

Our therapy sessions will provide a kind, supportive, collaborative, and engaging space to explore where you came from, who you are, what you want, and who you want to be. Together, we will identify your triggers and challenge negative thoughts and feelings such as insecurity, self-doubt, passivity, loneliness, shame, regret, guilt, constantly striving or comparing. We will dig deep to explore and understand your past (family of origin, intergenerational trauma, childhood experiences, cultural and religious or spiritual influences, socioeconomic considerations, etc.) and accept the present with greater compassion, curiosity, resilience, optimism, and self-awareness. Your family of origin and lived experiences are special, valid, and important to process. We will work intentionally and adaptably to identify short- and long-term goals for therapy and keep open conversations to ensure accountability and progress.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Being a first-generation Taiwanese Asian American immigrant has shaped my capacity to understand and appreciate the diversity and complexities of navigating uncertainty. I have realized that living means constantly evolving and adapting due to acculturation and life transitions, including grief and loss experiences, cultivating identity and purpose, and striving to connect within family, peer, and community systems. Since 2007, I have worked with programs providing outpatient adult mental health (ages 18-65), Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA)/pediatric therapy for children with developmental delays and disabilities (including Autism Spectrum Disorder), older adult day healthcare social work services, and community college Disability Support Services counseling for students. Additionally, I am a Christian and actively involved in my local church and ministries, however, faith and spirituality would only be addressed and discussed when brought up and requested by the client to process.
