About My Clients
The effects of trauma can show up differently for each of us and at any time. Lasting results can look like: trouble connecting to people; persistent self-doubt or shame; difficulty prioritizing needs in relationships; hypervigilance; addictive tendencies; isolation; detachment from our bodies; and/or chronic pain. Perhaps you're not even sure what you're experiencing. There's just a sense that something is off. Know that you are not alone and there is help!
My Background and Approach
As a biracial/bi-cultural person (Filipino & Polish/Lithuanian), I work well with folks who struggle with a sense of identity and belonging. Formerly, I worked as a professional graphic designer and branding expert. Much of that work focused on relational systems, emotional connections, and identifying core values. This experience led me back to school to earn a masters degree in counseling and certification in trauma. Informed by many perspectives, my integrative style leans toward existentialism (how we fit into the world), somatics (relating to the body), and parts work (examining multiple aspects of self from Internal Family Systems/IFS-informed lens). I’m also trained in EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) which is an effective and experiential approach to healing trauma. I'm inspired to explore how family, culture, and oppressive systems in which we all live impact our overall well-being.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Trusting we’re all born with innate wisdom, I believe we have everything within us to transform. I see our relationship as a shared place of safety and trust where together we create the conditions for change. In addition to my education and training, I bring warmth, realness, life experience, and humor to the relationship. Working collaboratively, my aim is to understand internal and external barriers interfering with your well-being all within the context of your unique life experience. Recognizing that finding the right person is hard, I affirm your courage for seeking help. The process of tending to and healing from our wounds can be daunting. However, this work can provide a profound sense of liberation, transformation, and even joy. Whether it's with me or another, this is my sincere hope for you.
