I am a psychologist working exclusively with older adults and/or their family members who may need support caring for their loved one.

I help people live with their experience of grief so that they can continue living their lives, albeit a very different life, while honoring their loved one. We look at what is right about feeling as sad as you do and what the grief says about your love for the person you lost.
We work collaboratively to see what you are saying to yourself that is contributing to your depression and how we can challenge those beliefs so that you may feel more joy in life.
Even though we are all experiencing life's changes and we are not what we "used to be", we can still find beautiful moments to cherish and look forward to. We just may need to examine how we are looking at our situation a little differently. I use a variety of techniques including radical acceptance with the understanding that while we are not able to change the facts, we can control what we think about them.
Thinking that something bad is going to happen is the cause of most anxiety. We will examine what you are saying to yourself and "talk back to" those thoughts. This will help you feel more comfortable and be free from anxiety.
