About My Clients
I support clients on a path towards recovery from, but not limited to, trauma, grief, life transitions, and symptoms such as depression and anxiety. I also join relationships who'd like to improve communication, intimacy, and mutual understanding, and clients who are on a spiritual path or search. The clients I work with want to address symptoms and also find a way to be more in tune with themselves and learn how to listen to their needs in order to find more balance in their lives.
My Background and Approach
I approach human conflict and health from a trauma-informed and humanistic-existential therapeutic perspective (Gestalt, somatic approaches, etc.), in which self-awareness, awareness of others, and awareness of life as a whole become the foundation upon which we solidify our life purpose and growth potential. I integrate a systemic view that recognizes the societal structures and maladies’ influence on our health, and a psychodynamic understanding that includes the relevance of our early attachments on our subsequent relationships as the social beings that we are. In a nutshell, I endeavor to attune to the various dimensions of yourself, from the somatic and emotional level to the societal and familial forces that intersect when creating your particular experience; that way, we are better equipped to assimilate the experience and utilize it as an existential aspect that can be understood and integrated back into your life and your ongoing vital process.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have progressively realized that joining people in their journey and supporting the steps they take towards being who they came to the world to be is profoundly therapeutic. I work with the understanding that I do not know what is like to be the person with whom I share the space; however, I am fully present, authentic, and available to join them and facilitate their discovery and instill confidence in what they deeply feel and know. I believe that an experiential and embodied connection with your feelings and needs elicit new possibilities that can help you find greater connection, fulfillment, and satisfaction in life. For that reason, I'm particularly interested and invested in the impact of trauma in the body as much as the body's wisdom to self-regulate and communicate essential needs, the renegotiation of childhood wounds as a transformative aspect in one's life in the present, and in therapy as a potential door for the psycho-spiritual dimension.
