I take more of a family therapy approach to working with folks who experience multiplicity. When working with alters/selves, I focus on highlighting everyone’s strengths, similarities, and shared goals. I encourage mutual respect and healthy communication. I hold space for trauma, and assist in co-creating better time management. I also focus on conflict resolution, healthy grounding and coping mechanisms, and safety.

Treating depression is often a process of exploring existential angst, accepting and embracing our strengths and limitations, and creating an attainable routine and plan of action that suits each individual. The nature of depression is often a lack motivation to take action. The antidote is often gentle encouragement, and setting up rewards for meeting small goals. Much of the depression can be due to not knowing how to harness ones gifts, and living or working in an invalidating environment.

Many folks with anxiety can benefit from relaxation, mindfulness, and becoming more in touch with their bodies. Being in a state of anxiety can take a toll on the body, and the mind often tricks itself into thinking that anxiety is helping them to become more productive, safer, letting them know something is wrong. I help clients reduce and potentially eliminate negative symptoms of anxiety by helping them to learn better coping mechanisms and to trust their instincts.
