About My Clients
I work with clients who may be struggling with identity issues related to acculturation, familial or romantic relational distress, and/or seeking recovery from behavioral addiction. You can expect that some of the sessions will be spent exploring how your environment has shaped and impacted your daily life. Most of my clients see a gradual decrease in emotional reactions and better boundaries over time.
My Background and Approach
I specialize in personality disorders, loss of racial identity, mood disorders, boundaries, and life transitions. My clinical approach integrates various theories, as no client is the same. Also, I am straightforward and empathically sarcastic in session! A lot of people (from personal to professional circles) say I am easy to talk to and "chill." And as I mentioned, I am straightforward but empathically sarcastic; however, that does not mean that I am brutally honest or insensitively aggressive. It simply means that because I prioritize the client’s goals and their reason for seeking support in therapy, I spare the action of beating around the bush. When I'm not seeing clients, I teach the next generation of therapists as a full-time faculty and supervise therapists in training through the Bowenian systemic lens in promoting higher differentiation of self and growing from our countertransference.
